Bully Proof Assistant & Bully Proof Assistant For Kids Anti-Bullying Apps for Android

They did it again today. The dirty looks, the inside jokes, the mental abuse. Sometimes even threats of violence.
Tomorrow, they’ll be right back at it.Will I be there? Do I have a choice?
Bullies. They’re all alike and sadly, they are of all ages.
In the corporate world there are all types of Bullies in the work place. From Managers in the board room to fellow co-workers. It makes you want to just tell them to "take this job and shove it".
Sometimes, it feels like the whole world is against me. Like I have no power and like everything I do is being judged to use against me.
My name is Bob, and I’m done with being scared. Bullying has changed my life, and I’m stronger because I have lived through it.
Not all of us are that lucky.
With what has been happening in my life, I decided to do something that would help others. I wrote a new Android App which is specifically designed to document bullied attacks and send it out to those who can come to your aid and resolve the issue. You can jot down the description of the assault, the bullies name, note the date and time of the assault and send a text message or email of the assault. The app identifies the software that is available on your phone and lets you decide how to send the message (text / email)..
I would like to hear from anyone who has had to deal with a situation similar to mine. The person who has been bullying me currently works and lives in Wilmington DE. In this country it isn't really illegal to bully someone unless the specific assault falls under one of the protective categories (disabled, race, etc.) In other countries, such as England, there are specific laws that are designed to protect people from being bullied in the work place as per the book "The Bully At Work" (a favorite book of mine on the subject). Those of us who have been targeted need to rise up against all types of Bullying and support each other as much as possible as we all strive to create a stress free workplace environment.
Also, please let me know what you think about this app. If you have any suggestions for any enhancements or if you are running into any issues with your phone, I would like to hear from you, Just don't Bully me. Any money I make will be used to help in the fight against Bullying.
The latest version of my apps work for everyone (both kids and adults). Since the app works well for everyone I had unpublished my older programs (Bully Proof Assistant For Kids, Bully Proof Assistant v2) With this app I added the capability where someone can come to your aid with internet (cyber) bullied attacks. I also added functionality to report to someone if you are having feelings of hurting yourself or the Bully who has been assaulting you. The main focus here is to find ways to enjoy your life without such unnecessary acts of violence. If you use either of these apps please let me know how your using it and if you have any suggestions for improvements.
The following is a story that I originally posted on www.bullyville.com shortly after I lost my job in Warrendale PA and is why I started down the path of creating the Bully Proof Network, Bully Proof Assistant apps, and a new book which describes what life was like on a daily basis. In my book I go back to the beginning of my story with what I call a pathological, serial workplace bully.

I’m 61 years old and just recently got terminated from a 1 yr. contract in Warrendale PA.
I was born in Philadelphia PA and grew up in the surrounding sub-burbs. I've been bullied from grade school through High School and later during the 20+ yrs. in the Data Processing world as a Developer. But what I really want to talk about is a Pathological Serial Work Place Bully. His bullying me actually began for several years before I left a company in Wilmington Delaware back in 2007. I’m actually in the process of writing a book about this whole story because he is extremely aggressive and I feel this story needs to be told.
He publicly and privately tried to pick fights with me. He actually bullied everyone in the office to disassociate them from me and bad mouthed me to my Bosses and everyone else. This Bully treats me like I’m his arch enemy. He made up a story that I had talked behind his back and had offended him. Since I’m currently in the Unemployment line, I’d really like to be able to tell my whole story. Here’s what happened from October 16th to January 25th 2013.
After I lost a job in Little Rock AR, I accepted a new position in Warrendale PA. After that I drove over to the Warrendale office. It was set in a beautiful modern complex with two other companies. I met my new Boss and began getting all set up so I could begin doing my work.
The following morning I drove up to the drive where I was to park in front of Building #4. Then someone motioned me to stop to allow pedestrians to cross and go into the front door of building #4. To my amazement I saw Mario slowly walking across the walkway. He had three of his friends standing across from my car laughing their asses off. What are the chances of this ever possibly happening to me? I landed an excellent position and I’m now confronted with my absolute worst nightmare I ever ran into.
He signed at the security desk at one of our neighboring companies in the complex. He made some kind of joke as I walked by which made the Security Guards laugh their asses off as I walked into the door. I ignored everything that was carrying on as I walked into my office. I don’t know for sure as to why he was here. He’s supposedly still working at my old company in Wilmington DE. I know I saw him one other time in Little Rock AR and I didn't have to work with him for over five years. What’s he doing here in Warrendale? Is he interviewing here somewhere or what?
Work was very busy upstairs and I was accomplishing everything I was asked to do. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks, I was able to work 9 hours per day which made up for taking an extra day over those two holidays so that I could drive home to see my family. My new Boss had told me that I’m doing a great job right before I left for Christmas. I was in seventh heaven. I thought I would at least last through October 2013 and hopefully get extended for a second year. Boy was I wrong. I had no idea that this could ever happen to me. I felt secure at this time and was really on cloud nine.
Now back to the Bully. During the week before Christmas I needed to eat my lunch at the main part of the cafeteria. Then while I was eating my lunch walks in Mario just staring at me while he walks in. He turns his back to me while he sits down in front of his meal. Then suddenly he turns completely around and keeps staring at me for about another eight minutes. He had one of his “your ass is so mine” type stares. I didn't acknowledge any of his stares. With the history we had in the past at the other Company, I felt that if I acknowledged any of his constant staring, that he would make some kind of scene and that I could easily have been dismissed because I was just a Contractor. After I finally finished my meal I got up and left. As I did I just stopped a bit and looked at him while he was cussing to himself (“Oh Shit”). Evidently he will never stop with his constant Bullying attitude with me.
To my sudden surprise, I was let go. My Boss said that he wasn't happy with my style of coding. With all the coding I did with getting the two batch refresh jobs working correctly and all the other work I did, and above all, meeting all the deadlines I just couldn't understand if this was the only reason. We had code reviews and I missed one end if and initialized an indicator in the wrong place within the correct “read” paragraph. What did I suddenly do wrong? He was concerned that I put my “and” and “or” statements over to the right instead of the left. I made all the appropriate changes but that wasn't good enough. He felt that I couldn't get up to speed fast enough. So I suddenly was let go after 94 days. I later found out that I was let go due to poor performance.
I think that something else was also in play which enforced his decision. I feel that the Bully had been talking to the Security Guards about me, defaming my character. That information made its way up to my Boss, via one of the Security Guards. A guard came up to our office one morning and was strangely staring at me, then turned to my boss and said “I need to speak with you in private”. They went into a nearby conference room and had that talk.
All that said I feel that I will always have problems with this Bully wherever I go to search of a new job. The term Serial Bully means someone who keeps track of me wherever I go. I just don’t understand what to do to fix this. I feel that my only option is to go public with my story before I go to another job somewhere else.
With everything that happened to me, I'd like to know if anyone else in this great world of ours has run into a similar situation. I would love to here from you and maybe even get you to post your story on my Blog.
Bullying is considered to be a phenomenon for a reason. No one talks about it, it just exists. Even after we all go through those annual boring online company ethics courses. Just another thing that companies require you to take to protect themselves legally. When your bullied by a Boss or Co-worker, your more worried about loosing your job.If it gets out of hand and you don't take any action, as with what happened to me, you will eventually find yourself back out on the street .
I worked on these apps as my way of contributing to a worth-while cause which still runs ramp-id in this country. Every time I hear someone going into an office or a school with the intent of hurting others, I strongly believe that BULLYING played a very big roll in those horrible stories. I'm no-longer afraid of admitting that I have PTSD, that we may loose our home in PA, as we continue to go further into debt.
People tell me that "everything happens for a reason". Maybe this is just something which needed to be done. If anyone uses the apps and you run into any issues with while running it on your android phone, please don't hesitate contact me. I will continue to support them and continue to add enhancements to them.
